Aketesia Afrik is a female-centred social-impact organization advancing protection, exposure and support for African girls and young women. We respond to barriers within and around them so they have greater room to imagine, choose and shape their own futures.

What we mean by casing

Casing means creating supportive conditions around a girl or young woman so she can see more possibilities, access useful opportunities and make informed choices about her future.

Some barriers take root within her. Others are imposed around her.

Both can narrow what she believes is possible. Understanding the difference helps Aketesia Afrik develop thoughtful and responsible responses.

Where we focus

African girls and young women may face social, economic and personal barriers that limit access to information, supportive relationships and wider possibilities. Aketesia Afrik focuses on the areas it can responsibly influence through community, exposure, partnerships and carefully developed initiatives.

Many girls and young women have limited access to people, information and environments that broaden what they believe is possible. Aketesia Afrik is developing a community-led response centred on exposure, connection and informed choice.
